Organizing Committee of the XXV World Congress International Society for Heart Research (ISHR2025 NARA) cordially invites you to participate in the 2025 World Congress and submit your abstracts for poster and/or oral presentations at the congress held in Nara in 2025.
We are looking forward to receiving your contributions for the scientific program and would like to thank you in advance for your support.
The submitted abstracts will be peer reviewed by the ISHR Scientific Program Committee, and the acceptance will be based on content, available space, and overall program balance.
All abstract submissions must be made electronically through ISHR2025 NARA’ online abstract submission system.
Please read the below instructions carefully and submit your abstracts by the due date.
ABSTRACT TOPICS
You will be asked to select one of the themes that best fits your abstract. The final assignment will be made by the Scientific Committee.
Themes:
- New Mechanisms of Cardioprotection and Injury (e.g. autophagy, gasotransmitters, PTP, redox, NO)
- New Insights into Cardiac Dysfunction (e.g. contractile proteins, inflammation, hypertrophy-failure transition)
- Ion Channel Mechanisms, Arrhythmias, Electrophysiology & Ca2+ signaling (e.g. pacemakers, arrhythmogenesis, ion fluxes, therapeutics)
- Signaling in Cardiac Disease and Therapy (e.g. kinases, GPCR, fibrosis, termination of signal transduction)
- Emerging Concepts for Cardiac Regulation: Beyond the Genome (e.g. systems approaches, computational modeling, preoteomics, epigenetics, miRNAs)
- Regenerative & Re-engineering Approaches for Heart Disease (e.g. tissue engineering, organoid screening, stem cells in development, repair, therapeutics)
- Cardiac Metabolism (e.g. nutrition, signaling, therapeutics)

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES AND GENERAL POLICIES
Abstracts Guidelines
Authors assume complete responsibility for the data at the time of submission.
The abstract must contain original work. If the abstract was published or presented at a meeting of another national or international scientific organization, it must contain all citations.
The acceptability of the abstract will be decided by the SPC and SecGen.
All author names should be included at the time of submission. ISHR is not responsible for missing, excluded, or misspelled names that the submitting author leaves off or misspells during the submission process. All author names will be printed in the program book exactly how they are entered into the system by the submitting author.

All decisions by the Scientific Congress Committee are final. Dates and times of presentations will be assigned and cannot be altered.
All authors agree to abide by ISHR policies pertaining to submission, publication, and presentation of abstracts.
Submission of an abstract for consideration for presentation implies that the presenting author intends to attend the meeting to present his/her work.
Language
All abstracts should be submitted and presented in English, which is the official language of the conference, using accurate grammar and spelling suitable for publication. If in doubt, please arrange for the review of your abstract by a native English speaker or by a university scientific publications office (or other similar facility) prior to submission, as it will be reproduced exactly as submitted. No proofreading will be done by the secretariat office.
Corresponding Author
The abstract submission form should be completed by the Corresponding Author, who will be responsible for all future communications regarding the submitted abstract.
Corresponding author should be the presenting author of the submitted paper.
Account
Each submitter (Corresponding Author) is required to create a user account indicating an account email address and a password. The email and password indicated will be used for all online forms of the Meeting (i.e. Registration Form).
Abstract Title
Abstract title should be brief and reflect the content of the abstract. The limit for the title is 50 words.
The abstract title should be bold with upper and lower case letters (upper case for the first letter of the first word, abbreviations, and proper nouns only) with no period at the end of the title. Please be careful that your title might be truncated if you copy and paste it into the field.
Do not refer to study results or conclusions in the title of the abstract. The title should objectively describe the study.

Presentation type
Authors are invited to express their preference for ISHR International Section or ISHR Japanese Section. Furthermore, selection of oral or poster presentation; the final assignment will be made by the Scientific Committee.
Authors
Names of authors should be written in upper/lower cases in the following way: {Full name with first letter in upper case (e.g. John)} {Surname (Family Name) with first letter in upper case (e.g. Smith)}
Please enter the first name in full, followed by the surname (Family Name), for each author, without abbreviations (e.g. John Smith, and NOT J. Smith).
Each abstract can have a maximum of 25 authors.
Affiliations
The Affiliations should be written in upper/lower cases and should include: Department, Institution/Hospital, City, State (if relevant), Country
Title / Body
Title: Approximately 50 words
Abstract Body: Approximately 400 words, identified by the following headers: Introduction, Methods, Results, Conclusions
Place abbreviations in parentheses immediately after the first mention of a term or phrase; once defined, the abbreviation can then be used throughout the abstract.
Table(s), Figures and photographs may be included (up to 2 in total).
Describe the objectives and results of the research in the abstract so that the Abstract Evaluation Committee can evaluate the quality, originality, and completeness of the abstract.
Abstracts will be judged solely on the basis of the data in the submitted abstract.
REGISTRATION OF THE AUTHORS
Presenters are expected to attend ISHR2025 NARA and are required to pay the registration fee and all expenses involved. The presentation of the abstract and its publication in the Final Program and the Abstract Book is conditional upon payment of the registration fee by the presenting author. Please note that in case we do not receive the requested payment, the abstract, much to our regret, will not be included neither in the Abstract Book nor in the Scientific Program of the Congress.
Authors registration deadline is 28 February 2025.
